Crime and Punishment
This is the story of Raskolnikov, a rebellious young man crushed by poverty. He is fighting against injustice, poverty, and the limited prospects the world offers him. So, to achieve his freedom beyond morality and in defiance of the law, he robs and murders an old moneylender. After all, the world will be better off without her, and the loot can be redistributed… The terrible punishment he inflicts on himself is immediate: tormented by the barbarity of his act, he wavers day and night between nightmare and madness. A pretentious, amoral young man? A clumsy Robin Hood? A charming scoundrel? Or simply a product of society? In court, opinions differ… This show will be an anatomy of a crime, from its conception to its confession. It will unfold at a breathless pace, shifting between action and reflection, punctuated by humor and songs.
